So here’s one of the views on nutrition I’ve been studying. I love getting different views on things. I certainly have my own bias and beliefs and view the world through those lenses but it is good to hear a multitude of perspectives. This doesn’t mean I wholeheartedly accept every belief from any particular author I present but I certainly can learn from them. As in all my posts and life in general, I don’t hold tightly to a lot of my opinions for several reasons: 1. they change J I fully acknowledge that the more I learn and experience, the more I change as a person, including my beliefs; 2. My plans for 2013 :)

As I start my restoration journey, I want to take a moment or two for reflection. I posted my journey through Lymphoma diagnosis and treatment in an earlier post for those who are interested to read. I want to shift focus now on the healing and restorative journey ahead! As I do this, I'm overwhelmed with gratefulness...to God who carried me through each day this year and gave me grace to handle everything that was "put on my plate". Next, to my dear and loving family who supported me in every way. I would not have made it through this without them. Next, I'm grateful for my friends (old and new!) who have gone above and beyond in their care and concern for me. Their prayers and support uplifted me many times. I'm also grateful for my new job of 3 months. My boss and coworker have been nothing but generous, concerned and understanding during this process. I'm also very grateful for my doctor who is not only skilled in his craft but will also defer to me and...

Day 7: Have you ever tried to force a rose to blossom?

One of my weaknesses has always been patience. I vacillate between the two extremes of complete patience where you enjoy the slow development of life and that stereotypical NY'er in me that enjoys life in the fast lane when we're going 90 miles an hour and processing 12 things at once. The same seems to be true now. At least I'm consistent :) I am SO grateful for how this process is going for me but I am also waiting, waiting, and waiting some more. I haven't been able to do much more than move around the house and go on a few light walks. However I am not bed-ridden or worse yet, stuck in a hospital for weeks or even months. I am waiting for my body to either go into complete hysterics and be hospitalized or I am waiting for my body to slowly start accepting my brother's stem cells and start telling them where they are needed in my body. See, even in this I am bossing my little brother around :) So far, my body seems to be taking the slow approach and I'm learn...
